Softtech Becomes the Only Turkish Company in the NIST FRTE 1:1 Top 50 Across Four Categories
Softtech’s facial recognition technology, which powers its Softtech Verify identity verification product, has excelled in the Face Recognition Technology Evaluation (FRTE) 1:1 Verification run by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), widely regarded as the gold standard for biometric accuracy. Softtech Verify delivers a success rate of over 99% in facial recognition, along with impressive success rates in document reading (OCR) and chip reading (NFC).
ISTANBUL, 29 September 2026 – Softtech, one of Türkiye’s leading technology companies, today announced that its facial recognition algorithm ranks in the top 50 in four categories of NIST’s FRTE 1:1 Verification evaluation. At the time of this release, Softtech is the only Turkish company to appear on the first page of NIST’s published FRTE 1:1 results.
The FRTE 1:1 program measures how accurately an algorithm can confirm that two facial images belong to the same person, the core check behind remote identity verification. Developers from around the world submit their algorithms to NIST, which tests them independently and publishes the results.
Fast, seamless KYC for financial institutions

“A technology we built is competing on the global stage”
Esin Coşkun, Deputy CEO, Digital Banking and International Banking Solutions at Softtech, said:
“For us, this result is more than a technical milestone. It is concrete proof that a technology we built in-house can compete internationally. Reliable results in identity verification come down to strong data, continuous R&D and refining algorithms against real-world use cases. That is the approach we will keep following as we take Softtech Verify further, bring it to new markets and continue building solutions around our customers’ needs.”
